Pratt Homes has created Barrie’s first residential rooftop patio and it will offer residents unparalleled vistas of the city
The Gallery Condominiums Final Phase has been released for sale in Barrie, ON.
This highly coveted community is in demand by many people. In less than six months from its grand opening to the public, phase 1 and 2 are already over 90 per cent sold out and the final phase is over 60 per cent sold out.
The passion for this Pratt Homes project is substantial. The Gallery Condominiums is a limited edition collection and possesses all the right components to make it a desirable place to live for people of all ages. When you build an equation with all of the differentiators that make this site incredibly unique, you can see why the only answer is: buy now.
The site will host a lifetime exhibit of Aylan Couchie’s art. She is a young female indigenous artist who has won the International Sculpture Centre’s 2015 Outstanding Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award. She was the winner of Pratt Homes’ art competition, which will result in her art submission H.I.O Big Chiefs being installed 70 feet in the air on one of the condominium buildings looking over Barrie for all to see. This will make The Gallery Condominiums a focal point for residents of Barrie and visitors to the city. There will be pieces of Aylan’s art placed throughout the community.
The Final Phase Release included floor plans and prices for The Louvre, a 108-unit building. The most exciting part of this building is the 11,000-square-foot Rooftop Patio that will consist of communal sitting areas, barbecues and, of course, Aylan Couchie’s art. This will be Barrie’s first residential rooftop patio and it will offer residents unparalleled vistas of Barrie.
The final touch is 14 acres of forested public park right beside the community. It will have trails, benches, look outs and more to make this area a remarkable addition to living at The Gallery Condominiums. It’s rare to get such a beautiful area beside a condominium development.
Now that you’re all fired up and excited about The Gallery Condominiums, it’s time to shine some light on the incredibly beautiful city of Barrie.
Statistics Canada released the Crime Severity Index (CSI), which measures the volume and severity of crime. The city of Barrie led the way with the lowest crime rates among cities of above 100,000 population.
Furthermore, The Real Estate Investment Network coined Barrie as one of the top places to invest in the entire province. Barrie has a growth strategy to implement by 2031 that will see the population rise to 210,000 and jobs to over 100,000. One of the key ingredients to the city’s growth was the addition of the GO Train. It’s such a great and reliable mode of transportation to get back and forth from the GTA.
Speaking of commuting, in a recent study released, it shows that Canadians actually enjoy their commute and find it relaxing. This is contrary to the previous popular opinion that commuters are angry, tired, road raging monsters. Okay, maybe that’s a little embellished.
The more interesting piece is that, three quarters of the commuters that were polled said they were actually in a better mood after they finished their commute. This is likely because they have time to unwind, mentally prepare or just tune out to music or a podcast.
This is good news considering the cost of living continues to increase in the Greater Toronto Area and owning a home there is becoming virtually impossible for first time homeowners. The price of a home in Barrie can be up to and well over $100,000 less than GTA. For the Greater Toronto Area as a whole, the average selling price for all types of residential property in March of this year was $688,181. The average price within the City of Toronto itself was $699,745 last month, with the average price for fully detached homes at $1.17 million and the average condo price at $416,251. Looks like moving to Barrie is becoming a more attractive option each day considering you get bigger square footage and a smaller mortgage!
Finally, Barrie will be getting all day GO train service to and from Toronto. Currently there are 70 weekly trips on the Barrie line, but this announcement would see the number grow to more than 200 over the next five years.
